In the fast-paced world we live in, it’s easy to lose touch with our natural rhythms—both the creative ebbs and flows that stir our inner world and the gentle rhythms of the earth itself. This Spring Equinox retreat is an invitation to reconnect with both: to rediscover the flow of our creativity and honor the necessary periods of rest and restoration.
Through writing, reflection, embodied practices and nature connection, we will explore how our personal healing is interwoven with the collective and ecological crises we face, fostering a deeper sense of interconnectedness with the world around us.
What to expect over the course of the weekend
(Friday afternoon to Sunday morning)
This retreat is about rewilding—returning to a deeper, more instinctual connection to ourselves, our creativity, and the natural world. It combines the practice of creative writing with immersive time in nature, giving you space to reflect, create, and reconnect with what makes you feel most alive and spend time with other like-minded people.
Creative Writing – Daily writing exercises inspired by the natural world and our inner landscapes, exploring themes of growth, cycles, resilience, and stillness. No experience necessary—just the willingness to express yourself authentically.
Nature Immersion – Walks, meditations, optional lake dip and private sauna, time spent in quiet contemplation within the natural surroundings, using nature as both a muse and a guide.
Rest and Renewal – A balance between moments of deep creative work and moments of rest—learning to trust the ebb as much as the flow, and understanding the wisdom that rest offers.
Movement practice – led by Wellbeing Warrior Blaithin Sweeney
Circle Sharing – Group circles for reflection, sharing, and witnessing each other’s process. This safe, supportive space fosters connection, growth, and encouragement.
Personal Growth – Opportunities to explore your personal journey through journaling, reflection, and creative expression, leading to deeper self-awareness and connection.
Connection – Get to know others in a small group setting
Nourishing food – All meals are included from dinner on Friday to breakfast on Sunday morning you will enjoy delicious locally prepared meals by award winning chef Peter Campbell to nourish your body.
Some of the themes we will explore:
- The ebb and flow of the creative process
- Reconnecting with the natural cycles of the Earth
- Finding inspiration in solitude and stillness
- Rewilding the inner landscape: embracing authenticity and vulnerability
- The power of storytelling and creativity as a tool for restoration and transformation

Who This Retreat Is For
This retreat is for anyone seeking to reconnect with their own creative energy, whether you’re a seasoned writer or someone looking to explore writing as a form of self-expression for the first time. It’s for those who want to deepen their connection to nature, slow down, and embrace their full creative and personal potential.
Where you’ll sleep
Accommodation is shared, with 2 people sharing a spacious Skydome Yurt. Sleep under the stars and in the morning soak up the unparalleled tranquillity looking out across the untouched bogland and lake setting. With 90 acres of land the Yurts are all very well spaced to ensure a complete sense of seclusion and allowing for uninterrupted views. Fully-insulated and luxuriously furnished each has two – three single beds, a wood burning stove, heavy tog duvets, crisp white linen, sheepskins and Donegal woollen blankets.
About the Venue
Surrounded by an unspoilt bogland landscape and a habitat for protected and declining species of wildlife the Lodge was designed from the ground up to exist in harmony with the natural environment and with sustainability a driving principle. The communal building is the social hub for our retreat. Its main feature however is the striking Reciprocal Room, a lounge area bathed in light with sweeping views of lake, forestry and mountains. There are no T.V.’s and warning; the Reciprocal Room is a gadget-free zone. (You’ll thank us later.) Feel your shoulders drop and your racing mind slow down. And you can enjoy a private sauna on the lake shore.
What do I need to bring?
An open and curious mind! We’ll be spending time outside in the elements so please bring suitable outdoor gear for whatever the weather may bring (expect four seasons in one day in March, in Donegal!) – whatever you would wear for walking outdoors, as well as additional layers, clothes for changing into back at the lodge, spare shoes/slippers etc. you may wish to bring swimwear if you fancy a lake dip. Please bring journaling materials (notebook, pens/pencils – your favourite writing materials). Again, I will be in touch closer to the time with all the information you need.
What will we be doing over the weekend?
Over the weekend, we’ll enjoy a balance of creative flow and restorative ebb, connecting deeply with nature and each other. After settling in on Friday afternoon (arrival and check-in from 3pm), we’ll begin with an Opening Circle, followed by a relaxed dinner. Saturday will focus on awakening creativity through nature immersion, writing exercises, and restorative activities like yoga and movement practice (and more invigorating activities like an optional lake swim and sauna!). There will also be space for personal reflection and group connection. Sunday will deepen the creative experience with a grounding walk and a final circle to integrate everything. Check-out is at 12pm. Expect nourishing food, time to explore, and plenty of opportunities to rest and reflect throughout.
If you have any questions about anything or your suitability for joining, please drop us an email and we will help in whatever way we can. You can email Easkey at hello@easkeybritton.com.
The following link will take you to the shop to book your place. Booking is only secure once the payment is made. Once the retreat is full we will run a waiting list and a form will pop up here to register your interest.
